As a child I loved to do two things. First, I
loved to read. Books were food for the soul. The second thing I loved to do was
write. I would fill pages of notebooks with stories of the people who lived in
my mind. I was determined to write books when I grew up.
I kept that ambition for a long time, and then
life intervened. For years I was caught up in the joys and mysteries of raising
babies to adulthood. Rather than writing a book, I was investing in lives.
Now, in the second half of my life, seven of my
nine children are adults. I’m busy teaching
fifth and sixth grade students grammar, math, and geography. I still read, and I
still love to write, but I understand the struggles of writing much better now.
This blog is a way to rekindle the lost fires of my ambition. You are welcome
